We seldom write on-line reviews, but we couldn’t resist writing in praise of the representation provided by Laura Halliday, Realogics/Sotheby’s Real Estate office in Seattle, Washington. From the first contact, through following her advice about how to prepare our special Capitol Hill Seattle home of 28 years for sale, Laura was stellar! Her recommendations for painting various rooms were measured rather than “redo everything”, her thoughts about partial “staging” were reasonable, and her pricing suggestion was within range of our expectations. And, her timing for when to list the home was astute. She also assured us that she would be present for every scheduled agent showing, which certainly provided us comfort during these difficult pandemic times. Her presence also allowed her to extoll our home’s architectural and functional virtues to prospective buyers. We hit the market at the end of February 2021, and after 30 showings over the first three days, we had three solid offers. With considerable, and at the same time normal, trepidation we sat down with Laura to review the offers and hear her analysis—pros and cons. She
then asked us if she could make a phone call to one of the prospective buyers’ agents, and an hour later we accepted a revised offer well beyond our initial asking price! We are convinced that Laura’s instincts and knowledge, and her ongoing professional relationship with the successful buyer’s agent, came together to make this happen. She then smoothly guided us through the quick closing period. And, at the end of March we walked away feeling exhausted, yet completely content, about selling our home. Thank you Laura!! Our hearty recommendation: anyone in Capitol Hill, Madison Park and points beyond wanting real estate expertise, professionalism, and a “gentle” touch in such an emotional experience as selling a family home should absolutely call Laura. In our case, she truly set the stage for happy sellers and buyers!
